I always wanted to build a direct damage deck but never seemed to be satisfied with the result. Then as I was thinking up decks to take against Khazad Dum + Dwarrowdelf at Con of the Rings this year, the idea came to me: pair Dwarves and Gondor using The Last Alliance. I knew I wanted to use Thalin since his value greatly increases in 4P. Dwarves also have the Dwarrowdelf Axe. On the Gondor side there are the Gondorian Spearman and Beregond with Spear of the Citadel and the Rangers with their Ranger Bows.

The contract allows you to trigger Legacy of Durin for Gondor allies as well or to play Dwarrowdelf Axe on Gondor allies. Beregond gets his usual Gondorian Shield and the first Spear of the Citadel. Extra spears go on the Gondorian Spearman.

Once the deck is up and running, you should be able to do 4 direct damage to an enemy in a single turn. One from Thalin, one from the Ranger Bow, one from the Spear of the Citadel, and one from the Dwarrowdelf Axe. The deck can pump out allies fairly fast, especially with the contract cost reduction which can lead to a large Hail of Stones play.

The deck has a modest about of attack and very little questing. It definitely isn't the strongest deck but it is great fun to play! Feedback welcome.

And it just occurred to me that Ring Mail would go great on the Gondorian Spearmen.

the Raiment of War is even better, enough targets for it, would include it. (all your tactik-allies are warriors)

Raiment of War is a good recommendation. Since it counts at 2 restricted attachments, it prevents me from putting that and Spear of the Citadel on the Spearmen or Dwarrowdelf Axe on Veteran Axehands, both of which I want to do for the direct damage strategy. Raiment would go best on Defender of Rammas or Honor Guard, but there it's a nice to have, not a must have, plus I'm not sure what I would cut for it.

the Raiment of War was a point regarding the Ring Mail

just saying, the Dwarrowdelf Axe does not make this much. to get the damage, you have to attack, that means, it make the dmg at the end of your attack. and not like the spear, at start, to get the dmg of the axe you have to survive the attack and then it is not better than a +1

there is a card, that will helpmuch more: Goblin-cleaver then you can theoretically make 5 dmg before the enemy attack (or 7 with Swift Strike )

Goblin cleaver would be great. Unfortunately, I don't have that card.
