As thematic of a Dwarf deck that I could build around these heroes. I play mostly solo.

Mulligan for A Burning Brand and/or Dwarven Shield as they'll beef up Bombur to take on bigger badder enemies. Dori helps take damage away from him as well.

If Magic Ring shows up, put it on Thorin so he can quest and then ready for more attack power, especially once he gets Orcrist.

Erebor Record Keeper is also great to see in your opening hand, getting your 5 dwarves (as Bombur clearly counts for two) for cheap and additional readying ability. Hardy Leadership as well to beef up Bombur against the big bosses and all the other dwarves for splash damage.

Cram targets are Bombur and Thorin.

Ori, Thorin and Glóin are our main questers. Sneak attacking Gandalf and Durin's Song will also help with questing. Gandalf will also help with reducing threat.

Bifur, We Are Not Idle and Daeron's Runes for card draw above and beyond Ori's ability. Gandalf can also help if low threat and things are going well enemy wise.

Healing Herbs goes on Ori so keep an Erebor Record Keeper and resource ready to get him back into play after questing to heal up Bombur, if need be.

If you can, hold a Miner of the Iron Hills back for the condition removal depending on the quest.

orcrist is thematic, but guarded, specially in solo is to risky for my gamestyle. an encountercard more can be cruicial at the beginning and later it might be winmore. would take 1 Valiant Sword and 2 Dúnedain Mark instead.

why no Erebor Hammersmith? the are the best 2-costdwares out there, and the can get you used Cram or Healing Herbs back. would change them with the Longbeard Orc Slayer

would consider to replacce 1 Dori with Self Preservation

Thanks for the comment! I appreciate the feedback.

I was thinking about valiant sword as well. Perhaps one Valiant Sword and two Orcrist or the other way round. My only issue with Dúnedain Mark is the theme but I should take another look for leadership/lore 1 cost attack boost attachments. Either way I get what you're saying and can appreciate that.

I really like the Erebor Hammersmith suggestion and the reason behind it. I'll definitely do that due to the high cost of Longbeard Orc Slayer was something I was struggling with.

I'll consider the Self Preservation substitute for one Dori as well. Allows for more healing on Bombur.

Can you explain why guarded attachments are too risky in solo play? Maybe I'm playing them wrong.

Cheers!

if you have it Hauberk of Mail would be a nice 1-cost-ld attachement.

guarded: it get you another encountercard (an enemy or location) in the planningphase. specially at the beginning, you struggle a little bit to quest enough even without an additional card. and it is very unlikely you duscard the guarded card in the round it comes into play (locations have to be traveled to explore, and enemys have to be killed to discard them). perhaps you have allready an enemy engaged, then 1 more is not very easy to handle at the atart, or there are allready 1-2 locations in the staging then 1 location more could get you near locationlock. and even if all that is no problem, then you will not know, when you free the guearded attachment (perhaps you do not quest enough in the next round to explore the active location, perhaps you do not have enough attack to kill the enemy)

and all this, the unknown additional encountercard and not knowing when is to risky for my taste.

about multiplayer/solo. 1 card more in solo is about double the staging (excluding surge), with more player it is 1/2 , 1/3 or 1/4 increase of staging. thats why it is less risky in multiplayer.

Right, thanks for your time explaining that.

I was totally playing it wrong. I missed how you have to reveal another encounter card until a location/enemy shows up and attach it to that. I was just attaching it to any enemy or location in the staging area after paying for it. Shoot! So it's pretty much like a surge and then hope you dont get an actual surge on the reveal.

That changes my mind about cards like Orcrist and Necklace of Girion then. The necklace especially was an auto include in many of my decks! Just when I thought I'd cracked the game! Man is this game hard lol.

Well I like the Valiant Sword option and yeah Hauberk of Mail could help me stick with the theme.

Thanks again!
