slothgodfather 45

slothgodfather has a newer deck inspired by this one: Rapid Fire Gandalf - The Grand Enabler

This deck - clearly not designed to be a solo deck - will work best in a multiplayer setting of 3-4 players but with some tweaks to add more questing allies, you can round the deck out some more to run well in 2 player.

The idea is to make the utmost use of Gandalf's ability to maximum capacity - so once per phase of the game.

With 30 zero cost events and only a few cards at 2 and 3 cost, the deck should run through everything extremely quickly.

The strategy is simple. Try to play an event from the top of your deck every phase of the game. To accomplish this, there are 30 zero cost events in the deck and only Desperate Alliance is one that needs to be saved in hand until later.

To assist in accomplishing this, use Expert Treasure-hunter to draw through more of the deck, use Wizard Pipe to swap a card you can't play with one you can, or use Daeron's Runes (typically from hand) to draw an attachment/character that you cant immediately play so you can hopefully reveal more zero cost events. Hidden Cache can be used to generate resources (when discarded by Expert Treasure Hunter) or to draw a card you can't immediately play off the top of the deck.

Try to make sure Favor of the Valar is triggered before using your Will of the West. Drawn out games will need this multiple times. With so much draw, don't worry about going over 50 cards and include at least 1 Favor of the Valar per other player in the game.

Use Arwen Undómiel, Errand-rider and Parting Gifts to give even more resources to other players. Use Gandalf's Staff as needed depending on the situation.

With zero things that cost a Lore resource, be sure to use Aragorn's resources for any neutral effects.

Light of Valinor and Unexpected Courage are to put on other players as you will hopefully not have to engage/fight anything.

The only real hitch is the leadership events. They either need to come from the top of the deck for Gandalf to play, or give get Narya is attached to him as quickly as possible.

And then lastly, the real gimmick of the deck. Use Desperate Alliance to grant another player control of Aragorn during the refresh phase so they can reset their threat to their starting threat!

By the end of the second turn all the players should have received at least 6 extra resources and 4 extra cards, and likely more resources than that through the Riders, Parting gift and Wealth of Gondor.

Anyways, let me know what you think!
