It's deckbuilding season! Rarely has a new deluxe open such a wide new playing field for deck ideas as A Shadow in the East.
Around the community a lot of people or looking forward to build thematic decks using the new Fellowship contract, but I wanted to take it in another direction. The Harad allies are already crazy powerful, buffing them up seemed good.
To achieve the contract requires card draw and resource generation. Testing will determine how quick the contract can be fulfilled. Readying (including ally readying) seemed like a good plan, to make maximum use of the contract's stats boost.
Comments on this new version: two copies each of Fili and Kili proved quite sufficient, so the third copies were cut. A single Self Preservation acts as a solid safety net for Jubayr, and Song of Hope is a good way to spend the ridiculous amount of resources Steward of Gondor can accumulate.
Is The Gathering Storm a good card? Not by any means. But in this deck it is completely warranted to get Jubayr into play as quick as possible. Otherwise, they are Éowyn or Glorfindel fodder.
