Overview: This deck is part of a two-deck fellowship designed to defeat the location-centric quest, Wrath and Ruin. This deck helps quest through the active locations in early rounds, pumps out allies, and contains the Burglar contract. The other deck defends with Dain and makes use of the active location with Haldan and Idraen. https://ringsdb.com/decklist/view/13765

Heroes:

Very typical tactics lineup that quests for 11 right away. With modest support from across the board the active location can reliably be cleared.

Theoden likes to see one of the first weapons from the Loot deck in order to trigger the events. He also receives an early Unexpected Courage from across the board.

Allies:

Recent quests have steered my deckbuilding away from 3x copies of key cards and the resulting variety makes games more interesting. So there are 2x of each non-unique ally and mostly 1x copy of each unique. Pippin is such an efficient defender and Legolas is so helpful with card draw they were bumped to 2x.

Tactics suddenly has a whole crew of 2 willpower questers and they are all featured here.

Attachments:

It's so nice to finally utilize the guarded cards. Most games of Wrath and Ruin witnessed 8-10 loot cards hit the table. Theoden, Haldan, and Idraen were recipients of the weapons, Dain received the armor, and Eowyn tended to get the artifacts for willpower boosting. The Necklace of Girion, however, went to Haldan. Those extra resources help pay for Ioreth's ability and other attachments. The Magic Ring went to Dain or Theoden depending on the current distributions of Unexpected Courages.

Mithril Shirt is for Dain and Raven-winged Helm is for Theoden. They both soak a ton of damage against Wrath and Ruin which applies damage in every way possible.

The rest:

Just a splash of basic events here. If more key allies were to emerge, this deck could be all allies and perform just fine.

Keep Watch is not critical, but quests of late allow for side quests and it gives something for these questers to do when progress on the main quest is futile.

Looks awesome. Could you put a link to your companion deck in the notes?
