GrandSpleen 1413
Mulligan for Resourceful.
Aim to get Stinker into the victory display and hold on to a copy of The Door is Closed to cancel the other when it comes (this does help the whole table, as it's an entire encounter card nullified for that turn).
Otherwise, use victory display events to power up Keen as Lances, use other events for draw. Fast Hitch ensures you have someone to ready and defend against Gollum should he flip over. Most allies are chosen based on cost to willpower ratio, with a couple in there for defense value and attack value.
I dared to play this 4-player, but the scenario was fairly forgiving: We Must Away Ere Break of Day (few enemies in the deck, just trolls to deal with later). Smeagol flipped 3 or 4 times and came back to me on the same round each time. Victory display shenanigans were instrumental in preventing a Forth the Three Hunters deck from losing all of its attachments to Wind-whipped Rain.

Mar 19, 2020That’d work fine. Could drop a Leaf Brooch for it. |
Mar 20, 2020any particular reason to play Folco Boffin other than Fast Hitch? it seems to me as if there are many great options for your third hero: Rossiel, Mirlonde, Thurindir, Firyal with Messenger of the King... |
Mar 21, 2020Honestly can’t remember. I’m sure it was for the super low threat, but I can’t quite recall the thought process. It’s been a while since I actually built this. But Sméagol does raise your threat, so I believe I did it this way to give breathing room and an emergency release valve if I did need to discard him. I knew I would play this 4 player, where it’s much more likely for the encounter deck to raise your threat, generally speaking. |
Why not a third Out of the Wild? That's such a key card for this format, I would think.
