Feta Cheese 101
An updated deck for multiplayer games that deals with questing, location control and gimmicks with my waifu Idraen. The deck intentionally does not include certain high-demand cards and heroes since it's meant to be the third pick for multi games (though it will also work as the second deck if you include Glorfindel and Light of Valinor). I removed Thrór's Key, Warden of Arnor and Strength of Will from the main deck because I found them of little use when The Evening Star and the powerful Explorer's Almanac are available. Sailor of Lune now replaces West Road Traveller thanks to his resiliency (his effect is easy to trigger) and three additional allies (Erebor Hammersmith) are added for bonus bodies on the table.
-
Idraen can exhaust for Peace, and Thought, then be readied again next round when a location leaves play, such as The Evening Star.
-
Peace, and Thought drawn cards can be used to fuel Arwen Undómiel, Steed of Imladris and Protector of Lórien.
-
The Evening Star can be used to ready Idraen at any phase and if you exhaust idraen to Strength of Will, she will ready if the location is explored.
-
Tale of Tinúviel can be used to power up Idraen but it can also be used the opposite way. For 1 resource it can grant you an extra action with increased statistics. Use it during the quest phase when you know that a location will be explored, so Idraen can exhaust to buff Arwen then get readied again. This way Arwen may commit to the quest and can still attack for 3 or defend with 4 Defence. Even her willpower will be increased so you won't fall behind in questing.
-
With Explorer's Almanac you can clear 2 locations in one questing phase (attached location and active location) however Idraen can only ready once and you have to wait a round to play it. Strider's Path is better in 2 player games when you are not overwhelmed by locations.
- Ranger of Cardolan is your primary defender, but Protector of Lórien also works well in a pinch. Bonus points if you use Protector to discard all 3 [Elven-light](/card/1014 or if you block-ready-attack with Idraen.
