A bit different than the typical MOTK Gamling deck according to the current (small) sample size.

The primary goal is using Westfold Lancer every turn to deal 2 damage to an enemy in the staging area. You can do this every turn if you use his response. The only downside is you can only use the response if there is actually an enemy there. If you are certain there won't be an enemy to use the direct damage on, or if you need a quest push, then you simply use Escort from Edoras. We are ideally getting Éothain out and readying him each round after this sequence happens. Rohirrim Scout helps enemies stay in the staging area. Gúthwinë or Gamling recur them.

Gamling can save two allies per round with UC. Spare pipe is to help him stay around longer and dig for Mustering the Rohirrim to fish out Westfold Lancer. Steward of Gondor can go on any hero, but I've taken a liking to put it on Eomer to fuel his ability as well as Song of Hope, Herugrim, and putting out bigger allies. The advantage to using Eomer is Guthwine, resource acceleration, and healing through Dúnedain Remedy. Valiant Sacrifice is also a bonus. We also get use out of good allies for this type of scheme.

For a sideboard option: Necklace of Girion (would help with resource smoothing/questing) or Orcrist helps ensure an enemy will enter the staging area by making use of the guarded effect. Ally version of Gamling stayed in the sidebaord to help with OCTGN testing.

Nice idea!

@GreenWizardglad you like it. Once Westfold Lancer is found and you get a Horn of the Mark out things really ramp up! I'm going to try it against Seventh Level soon because I have a hunch in will demolish that scenario

i think, the problem is, to safly quest succesfully. with a strong questdeck as partner nice, but else, the starting 6 seems not enough for hard quests. paired with theoden, eowyn +x (x could be erkenbrand or elfhelm or fastred +ring) it could be a strong combo, specially if that other deck could give eomer a Spear of the Mark in addition to gutwine.

consider Sneak Attack then you could perhaps make double lanceraction. that would be worth a gandalf.

Fantastic!! I like to try this deck one times! Good idea to not lose your ally after 1 use! The Philosophy : or quest successfully or death

@doomguard yeah I have not tested in on quest-heavy scenarios yet. Thats a situation where I'd add in Necklace of Girion and rush to get it on while I have low threat. The nice thing is every other ally can quest and be added back to my hand by Gamling or Guthwine. Likewise, there should be enough resources to use Song of Hope every round. But to your point you are right - Lotheirel (with one attachment), the Lancer, and Eomer are going to be a bit slow starting out.

@serpico thanks! The best part is that even in a worst case scenario the Westfold Lancer just gets shuffled into the deck. The real gamble is getting him back right away!

I've just seen the deck now while I'm trying to upgrade my MotK Gamling deck. I really like your idea. I was stubborn in using Éomer while trying to recur Westfold Lancer and Secret Vigil + Faramir to kill enemies in the staging area, and your solution is really easier.

Do you really find that The Muster of Rohan deserves paying for it? In my games, I've found that playing it with less than 2X-30 allies is the deck is usually a waste.

@weheheglad you like the idea. I really had to fight the urge to use Éomer because of his amazing, natural synergy with Lothiriel. But it surprised me how well L Eomer synergizes in this case.

I find I don't use The Muster of Rohan that much. It's more of a failsafe card in difficult scenarios as well as another way to get Westfold Lancer into battle without a resource match. I also found it's not too difficult to pay for with SoG if I'm planning right. But you could totally add something else and be just fine. I'd be interested in seeing whatever you come up with :)
