This deck is designed with HON scenarios in mind. I would recommend starting the game as the 2nd or 3rd player in a multiplayer game and wouldn't use this deck at all in a solo or possibly even a two player game. The aim of this deck is to clear locations as quickly as possible. This is of particular importance on Turn 1 in The Siege of Cair Andros.

Full disclosure... I am very inexperienced at playing decks with this much discarding and retrieving and pulling back of cards. Though the deck seems to work well paired with a couple of other decks I have used in HON I fear I may be missing something obvious and would appreciate help with this deck.

Mulligan. Typically mulligan for an ally and event that allows you to get the hand to in play and in play to hand boomerang effect going. But in The Siege of Cair Andros you should solely focus on clearing The Banks location that's in the staging area. You need 3 progress tokens to clear it so you're looking for some combination of Ride to Ruin, Woodland Courier, The Riddermark's Finest, Rhovanion Outrider, and/or Greyflood Wanderer. The Banks is a squishy location and if you don't clear it the scenario becomes much more difficult.

The Heroes.

Let's get the oddball, Dáin Ironfoot, out of the way first. HON puts a premium on high defense and enemies often swarm player's play areas. He's there strictly to protect Arwen and Galadriel and provide support to other players. His defense rating also can come in handy during siege questing.

Arwen Undómiel provides resource generation and her will power comes in handy. Don't sleep on her defense rating as that will be useful during siege quests. Also, being able to hand off a resource to Aragorn on occasion can really help.

Galadriel provides threat control and card draw. You're going to want to find and get her hooked up with Nenya as quick as you can. You don't have to mulligan for her ring but it sure is a nice addition if you have it on Turn 1. Throw Unexpected Courage on her if you find you need that card draw and her will power.
