Welcome everybody to my first published deck on RingsDB! I have recently finally finished playing through ALeP after I got the whole cycle printed and sent to me via MB print (highly recommended!) and the theme inspired me to make a Rhohan deck with some of the new goodies from the new ALeP player cards. This deck is meant for solo but can surely be played in multiplayer as well.
deck idea: The basic idea of this deck is to play allies for cheap, discard them or make them leave play otherwise and then profit from triggers of an ally leaving play to refill your hand, draw cards, reduce your threat or heal characters.
hero lineup Éowyn: nothing special (in the sense of the deck idea) here. Her ability to quest is awesome, she is cheap and makes bosses go away. Most importantly she open the tactics sphere for us und only costs 6 threat to start with.
Thengel: a new addition from ALeP. Thengel is really, really good. He can potentially quest very well most importantly he will be our main blocker (if we don't want to chump block with an ally) together with Golden Shield which gives him 6 defense in total. His 4 HP also helps with this idea. What makes him really special is his response. He will refill our board after we discard an ally or an ally just leaves play in another way, which is awesome to build up the boards-state. His ability is not restricted by cost which is nice as well. He is integral to our strategy
Théoden: He is the main ressource accelerater and together with Thorongilhe boosts our willpower further and gives us another potential tactics resource per round. His ability is useful all around and he can attack very well. All around good and in the manner of our strategy.
allies I will not run trough every card there but the main idea should be really obvious when you look at what is included in the deck. Arwen Undómiel, Legolas and Warden of Healing are the only cards not with the Rohan trait. Arwen is just too good with Thengel not to be played and I feel that the deck needs another way to heal characters other than Morwen Steelsheen. Morwen Steelsheen is very nice card btw. She provides everything you could want. Play her for free and try to keep her flexible during the quest phase and you will be rewarded!
Attachments Horn of the Mark goes onto Éowyn, Golden Shield onto Thengel, Herugrim, Snowmane and Thorongil all go onto Theoden. The rest goes whereever it's needed the most.
event Need Brooks No Delay holy cow what a card. I would play 6 of them if I could. It finds basically every card in our deck for 1 resource. What is not to love about that thing?
The rest of the events are suited to true solo and it's needs. Be flexible about them, I haven't finalized my line-up.
Especially since it's my first I would love some comments on this deck. Do you have any other ideas for the archetype or would play some other cards? Please let me know :)
