The Thematic Saga continues with The Road to Isengard
The video can be found here: https://youtu.be/PqfGhca6JHI
In this series I am trying to use as many thematic cards as possible as I play the Lord of the Rings Saga quests in order, in a modified campaign mode. The modification is that I will not be raising my threat if I swap heroes in-between quests.
The defense of Helm's Deep held, but Isengard must be dealt with. Merry and Pippin have roused the Ents after an Entmoot presided by Treebeard. There is no time to be Hasty! as the ents march to war after seeing the destruction of Saruman. Singing a Song of Battle the ents march to Isengard. The battle is won as The Dam Bursts and the filth of Saruman is washed away.
This build was an easy one (thank goodness after the struggle I had with Helm's Deep). Many players have built similar decks using the heroes listed here. The deck is very easy to pilot. Just play ents while your threat is low, once enemies start engaging you there should be a Derndingle Warrior with Ent Draught to handle attacks. The Wellinghall Preserver keeps him healthy and a powered up Booming Ent can do the killing. Remember Merry can ready another attacker if he participated in the attack as well. I did not include Fast Hitch simply because it is not really needed but if you wanted to use this deck for general non-saga purposes it slots right in. Just cut some thematic cards, you could easily swap out Don't Be Hasty! and Frodo's Intuition for Fast hitch.
This deck is pretty unstoppable once it gets rolling. Good luck and happy questing.
