Deck attempt to use Elwing's Flight card.
I wanted to use it fully so use Dwarven Tomb and Map of Earnil to be able to complete it every turn once the deck is empty. I think it's not worth playing the first two copies, so we can discard them with Arwen or Glorfindel for example if we have drawn them, or with Dain/Zigil from the deck which is good.
The goal is to empty your deck quickly enough. For that we have Dáin Ironfoot, Elven-light, Zigil Miner, Gandalf (we draw indirectly by playing the top card). We will be able to use quite a few of these discard cards thanks to Dwarven Tomb/Reforged/Glorfindel.
We should be able to query well with Arwen, Glorfindel, Bilbo and the trackers who discard locations. With Elwing's Flight and 3 Northern Tracker you can manage locations very fast !
In resource generation it's quite huge with Arwen/Zigil/Steward/Hidden Cache/Sword Thain, we will complete both Lord of the Eldar and Elwing flight every turn once the deck is empty.
In reality, with the lack of Noldor we can do without Lords of the Eldar if we want to play without the steward.

Jan 04, 2024It's not Elwing's Flight but the Northern Tracker who help. With 3 Northern Tracker, locations are not an issue anymore. Elwing's Flight makes Northern Tracker far better with 2 willpower each and ready to fight with their good stats. |
Jan 04, 2024if thats all, thats a bit underwhelming, +3 wp and a bit of fighting is easier to get. nevertheless your strat is not bad for multiplayer where might be better targets than northern tracker. |
Jan 04, 2024Looks like fun! I love the Northern Tracker/Elwing's Flight combo. What about swapping Círdan the Shipwright for Gandalf? You’d go through the deck a bit faster and have a little more willpower. You’d also have one more target for Lords of the Eldar. |
Jan 04, 2024@ doomguard, yes Elwing's Flight is not a good card. I tried to make something playable with it. And it's not so bad. You adapt who you will ready according to the situation. Of course Gandalf is the best target. But x2 2 willpower and some attack/def is quite ok. @ bhuster, yep, Círdan the Shipwright is a good idea. You won't see the top card so Hidden Cache and Ered Luin Miner are less interesting but you can maybe play Pelargir Shipwright instead. Thank you for yours comments ! |
Jan 05, 2024it could perhaps be pimped, adding 3 The Evening Star what follows the same mechanic as Elwing's Flight in that case lore has to be added too, but thats not impossible (either as hero or with Song of Wisdom (MotK) Gildor Inglorion is an interesting option) |
Jan 05, 2024Yes i have it on sideboard because it was my option before. But after test the deck was more consistent with Northern Tracker to manage locations and fight. But yes it's an option and interesting way to play 2 cards rarely played instead of one ! |
how does Elwing's Flight help u with locations? u can ready the tracker and give +1 but they cannot commit an additional time to the quest. so i cannot see how the combo specially helps against locations?
