This deck was built to take on "A Storm on Cobas Haven". It would also do well against most quests where you want to attack into the staging area with Dúnhere.

Having Tactics was a must to get an attachment like Spear of the Mark, Dagger of Westernesse, or War Axe that could reliably get Dúnhere +2 attack, and then another +2 attack for the second attachment. Mablung ended up being a great hero with solid stats and a nice Response effect of another resource any time any enemy became engaged, which could happen with some of the shadow and treachery cards that force Raiders to become engaged with the first player.

Arwen Undómiel rounded out the hero line-up with solid 3 will-power, and the classic combo of Elven-light plus an extra spirit resource each round.

Many of the allies were focused on getting cheap 1-2 cost allies that reduce threat, provide will-power, or were just plain cheap for Sailing tests. If possible I would hold on to Galadhrim Weaver until after I played one of the key events like Elrond's Counsel or A Test of Will.

General Overview for "A Storm on Cobas Haven"

Quest 1: Outmaneuver the Enemy

  • Started with Seaward Tower as the first Guarded Objective for +2 for Sailing Tests. The Beacon could be a good objective to have as well to start to acquire Dol Amroth warships and build up your fleet, but I found early game resources to be scarce and really needed the extra boost for Sailing.
  • Started with Dreamchaser and Silverwing (for +1 attack bonus to heroes)
  • Ideal opening hand would be cheaper allies like Envoy of Pelargir, a weapon for Dúnhere and some card draw with Foe-hammer or Elven-light.
  • The main idea is to start to use Dúnhere to attack the Scouting Warship and destroy it over a couple turns. You also need to get out several allies to be able to commit about 4 characters to the Sailing test (+2 from Dreamchaser).
  • Hopefully the staging area is mostly under control, and the Corsair Warship doesn't come out. You can still beat it, but it definitely slows you down. Ideally want to end the round with lots of cheap allies in play to aid in the sailing tests.

Quest 2: Battle in the Bay

  • Setup for 2A allows you to choose a ship enemy. If you haven't done so already, it's good to start to build up your fleet so the Corsair Skirmisher is good to target. You can possibly time traveling to certain locations to prevent attacks or reduce the Boarding keyword.
  • At this point you should be pretty setup with Dúnhere attacking into the staging area for 8 attack, possibly twice with Unexpected Courage.
  • If you're able to get the Beacon objective for the Dol Amroth Warships or a couple Corsair Skirmishers, you're ready to engage the Raider flagship or just amass a ton of will power to break through the final stage in one turn.

Why Mablung if you are trying to keep stuff in staging? I get your explanation, but Éowyn or Herubrand would probably be better.

You're definitely right! Tactics Éowyn and Fastred could have been a good hero line up for example. I thought I mentioned it in my description above, but I was using the post Revised Core cards that I have in my current collection.
