Mr. Underhill 4149
Video playthrough:
Peril in Pelargir has an intense early game and a lot of enemy attacks to deal with, meaning that your heroes really need to pull their weight for questing and combat. Furthermore, there is an enemy, Zealous Traitor, that does one damage to your allies when it engages you (or two damage if it was not optionally engaged), making it difficult to rely on allies in this quest.
For those reasons, we've got Boromir to do most of the heavy lifting for us, with Aragorn and Glorfindel to back him up. (I also love the idea that Boromir could be involved in a bar fight, and that Aragorn and Glorfindel have to get him out of it!)
In your opening hand, look for a Burning Brand + Song of Wisdom or Gondorian Shield to help Boromir survive the early onslaught of enemy attacks. You want to get him defending everything and killing enemies alongside Glorfindel, so an early Light of Valinor helps lighten the load here as well.
Aragorn helps to mitigate the cost of Boromir's readying action, and also allows us to play Gandalf without fear of threating out. Another nice thing about Aragorn is that he attracts the attention of those nasty Local Troubles away from Boromir. Miner of the Iron Hills allows us to discard Local Trouble once it's attached.
The majority of the deck consists of attachments to power up the heroes, lots of draw to find the attachments, and a number of carefully chosen allies. Gandalf is there because he can help in both battle and willpower quests. Arwen Undómiel adds defence to Boromir, has 2 health to survive the Zealous Traitor, and can contribute to the quest on Stage 3. Bofur is a solid quester who can bounce in and out, Knights of the Swan can contribute a little bit of , and the aforementioned Miner is there to discard Local Trouble and soak archery damage.
Enjoy!
I enjoyed the play through video. We're still waiting for an actual weapon for Boromir... he wouldn't be caught with daggers! Revealed in Wrath might help mitigate some of the nastiest engagement effects on those enemies.
