Thematic creatures deck designed for solo play, but would likely work well in 2-player as well. It does surprisingly well against Escape From Dol Guldur. I have won at least once with each of the heroes taken as prisoner, though it's a bit tougher when Radagast gets picked.

It has high starting threat, but can handle combat from turn 1 thanks to Beorn. By the time he starts to reach the end of his health pool, your eagles and Giant Bears can take over defence duty.

A fun play is when Beorn is about to die from combat damage, use the action window before the enemy attack resolves to Wizard Pipe Landroval on top of your deck and put him into play via Gwaihir's Debt, simultaneously healing all but one damage on Beorn and readying Gwaihir. Otherwise, use Gwaihir's Debt with Gandalf to reduce your threat.

Good early game cards to mulligan for are Radagast's Staff, Meneldor, Beorn's Rage, Eagles of the Misty Mountains, and Eagle Emissary.

If you are playing a scenario that allows time for side quests, then it doesn't hurt to put one or two copies of Keep Watch in there. If you manage to pull it off, you will get a lot more use out of Beorn.
