This deck is part of a two-deck Fellowship used to play A Shadow of the Past for the Cardboard of the Rings Quest of the Week.

The Fellowship description contains details of the quest playthrough and campaign mode information.

A Shadow of the Past has some tricky features including Hide Tests and the Black Riders enemies.

To counter the quest the deck features a lot of , action advantage, and side quests.

Sam Gamgee and Fatty Bolger bring strong abilities, Hobbit synergies and low threat to the deck. They are also perfect thematic inclusions. They are joined by Círdan the Shipwright for his exceptional .

The plan for the deck is to use its 8 starting to both quest and ensure Hide tests are passed. The deck includes readying effects and boosts to provide additional assurance.

This deck is lighter on combat, but provides a large amount of and several supporting cards like Narya and Warden of Healing. Fatty will also use his ability to put the first Black Rider revealed into the Victory Display, hopefully giving a large early game boost.

With Steward of Gondor and Errand-rider this deck can support the whole Fellowship with resources. Círdan is the likely recipient as he gains the sphere icon with Narya and can pay for a big Stand and Fight if the opportunity arises.

Both decks in the Fellowship feature plenty of side quests to stall on Stage 1 and build up strength. Gather Information can be used to chain side quests together and keep up the stalling for as long as possible.

This deck includes Asfaloth, which is intended to be played on Glorfindel in the partner deck. Similarly, the partner deck includes Sting, most likely attached to Sam.
