Into the West + Every Other Contract

Part 8

With the release of Beyond the Original Bargain, I am now working on a follow up to my original article on Into the West from over two and a half years ago. For that original article I built a bunch of Into the West decks--this time I'm building a bunch of decks that combine Into the West with every other contract. When I've published that article I will update this deck description with a link to it, and that article will have all my thoughts on this particular contract combination.

Playing this Deck

Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing?

Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing?

We finally have an answer to these questions. Where now the horse and the rider? They're in my deck. With Into the West they are also being removed from the game every round. Where is the horn that was blowing? It's in the loot deck that you get thanks to The Burglar's Turn, along with a bunch of other powerful attachments that you get for free. Where is the helm and the hauberk? Well, we have Ancestral Armor and Mithril Shirt in our loot deck. I decided not to include Hauberk of Mail or Raven-winged Helm, although we do have fairly good targets for them. And the bright hair flowing? Éowyn.

The days have gone down in the West

In all seriousness, the acceleration you get out of this deck is insane. You get a free ally at the start of the game, you get free allies from Thengel, you get free attachments from The Burglar's Turn, you get very cheap stuff from Need Brooks No Delay, you get a bunch of allies at a time from The Muster of Rohan (one of which can be refunded with Into the West), and you get reliable card draw from Into the West.

Of all the contracts that can be combined with Into the West, this is tied for my favorite (along with Fellowship).
