This deck is build for PnP fan made core set scenario Troll Hunt, which can be found on BGG or internet. Its basically build only from the Wilderlands and Passage through Mirkwood and I would rate difficulty somewhere between 1 and 3. So I decided to use it as testing ground for Gimli and also trying to survive without : which means limited resources, no double action for any hero, limited threat, slower questing and lot of fighting :)

The strategy of the deck is mostly build on using Denethor's ability to see what's coming next and get prepared for it. Théodred and Gimli are dedicated for questing at start and when you get a lot of allies, Gimli will deal with fighting mostly.

The Protector of Lórien became the most important card quite quickly. It's great boost for questing and defending and in combination with Gléowine on table it can be better then Éowyn. Celebrían's Stone and Steward of Gondor are for Théodred and Citadel Plate and Dwarven Axe for Gimli. Horn of Gondor is good to have on Denethor.

Beside Gandalf, Faramir will do a lot of good in questing and Erebor Hammersmith will deal with lost attachments from shadow cards.

Most useless became Brok Ironfist, which I'll replace possibly with Beorn, cause Gimli really don't need dwarf backup.

Whole game took 10 rounds with 132 points. And I killed both trolls and saved some travelers :)

EDIT: 5 wins vs. attempts: I won 5 times in 9 games.
