Darkling Door 6446

Darkling Door has a newer deck inspired by this one: Love Stories

A fun, thematic Noldor/Dunedain secrecy deck featuring Middle Earth's favorite romantic team!

This deck is competitive in many quests--even those requiring some combat--but it excels any time it can simply leave enemies in the staging area or have other players deal with them. The goal is to drop into secrecy early and then stay there, dumping allies onto the board at steep discounts.

Mulligan for either a hand that can drop into secrecy turn 1 and then play some Secrecy cards down, or Elven-light. It's possible to stall out if you don't draw Elven-light, but once things get going this deck can usually stay in secrecy for a long time. Leaf Brooch and Elven-light make a fun combo!

Taking Initiative might actually land in the early game, or if set up by Galadriel, but its real goal is to filter towards Elven-light if you haven't found it yet. Feel free to dump it to Arwen Undómiel or Erestor if you have already found Elven-light.

When needed, use Tale of Tinúviel to help kill tough enemies.

Good deck, i like it. I find it more good deck than the average of decks here.

@mndela Glad you like it! I've been having fun experimenting with some off-beat decks lately.

Like the idea, but one question, is it not too hard to stay in "secrecy" ?

Steward would have been a nice option for making ressources, easy to pay with Arwen and that Aragorn.

@Aorakis Unless the quest specializes in raising your threat, I can usually stay under 20 threat the whole game. The trick is getting to Elven-light early enough to be able to find the threat reduction cards by the time you need them. Erestor can help too. Plus, once you've played Elrond's Counsel once, you can recur it with Dwarven Tomb if you need to.

You could probably swap a copy or two of Steward of Gondor in if you wanted, maybe instead of Resourceful. I've been avoiding the card lately myself in favor of more thematic resource production options, but it's hard to argue with two resources per turn. Note that doing so would reduce the effectiveness of Taking Initiative a little, for what it's worth.

Thanks for the input!
