'Who is that?' Frodo asked, when he got a chance to whisper to Mr. Butterbur. 'I don't think you introduced him?'
'Him?' said the landlord in an answering whisper, cocking an eye without turning his head. 'I don't rightly know. He is one of the wandering folk - Rangers we call them. He seldom talks: not but what he can tell a rare tale when he has the mind. He disappears for a month, or a year, and then he pops up again. He was in and out pretty often last spring; but I haven't seen him about lately. What his right name is I've never heard: but he's known round here as Strider.
The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring - J.R.R. Tolkien
This one is a ranger & trap based deck.
Thanks to Damrod the first trap you play each round will be cheaper, and every time a trap attaches to an enemy you will draw an extra card, after a few rounds you will have a full hand, and the low cost of almost every card will allow to adapt and dessign your own strategy.
For me, the best combinations are Ranger Spikes + Ithilien Pit (because you can leave an enemy in the staging area and finish it there) and Ranger Spikes + Poisoned Stakes (you don't even have to do anything, after a couple rounds it will perish).
Before I play Ambush (always combined with Entangling Nets, if possible) I like to have two Ranger Spear on Aragorn, so that when I discard the Ambush, Aragorn attacks with 7 to an enemy with probably with 0 or 1 .
If possible, try to leave permanently an enemy with 2 or 3 with a copy of Ranger Spikes on it on the staging area, so the Emyn Arnen Ranger can questwith its value.
Henamarth Riversong is one of the best assets in this game, combined with Wingfoot will allow Aragorn to quest and attack or to quest and defend, and combined with the Ithilien Tracker you will know when to exhaust him in order to lower the of the staging area this round. Use the Guardian of Ithilien to return an enemy to a staging area full of traps, but making sure with Henamarth Riversong that the next encounter card is a location or a treachery card without surge. If it's an enemy, value which one of them would bother you the most. The Dunedain Lookout will help you to avoy a harmful "when revealed" effect. And finally, the Ranger of Cardolan will help you to defend that one attack or to get rid of that enemy you just engaged (unless you have enough resources for a full incorporation).
