What's better than a Rohan deck? A Rohan deck with Grima in it of course. This is an updated version of my original Grima Rohan build. The main idea is to combine the cost reduction of Theoden and Grima to pump out Rohan allies as quickly as possible, while Grima's access to Lore provides plenty of card draw, which is often Rohan's main weakness. Theoden and Herugrim can cover a ton of ground offensively, and Protector of Lorien is primarily meant for him.

Apr 21, 2016Yeah, that's a good shout. So far, I haven't felt like I needed it between Gleowine, Deep Knowledge, and Daeron's Runes, but that would be another good option if I feel like it's still lacking. In general, Elven-light could work well for Rohan card draw if you don't feel like including Grima and Lore. |
Apr 26, 2016The deck looks solid. But i'm afraid it has no answers to nasty shadow cards. I believe that some copied of Hasty Stroke is nessessary to cover that department, or maybe a combination of Song of Wisdom and A Burning Brand would suffice. Also Your heroes may require some healing, so a couple of Galadhrim Healers, Wardens of Healing or Daughters of the Nimrodel will do the trick. You can also add two copies of Miners of the Iron Hills or Power of Orthanc to deal with problematice conditions. |
Apr 26, 2016Both Hasty Stroke and A Burning Brand were in earlier copies of this deck, but were ultimately cut. In the end, while I used to run shadow cancellation in every deck that I could, I don't do that anymore, as some quests you can get by without it and use the deck space for other things, and some quests very much demand it. So shadow cancellation cards really fall into the sideboard category for me, unless I'm running a deck specifically focused on that kind of effect. Healing and condition removal also fall into the sideboard category as those tend to be more or less necessary depending on quest. |
Apr 26, 2016you're right. Thank you for your feedback. |
Apr 26, 2016No, thank you! Your list will be really useful for players who are looking at this decklist and need ideas for sideboard cards to include against certain quests. |
Apr 27, 2016Glad to be of help |
Apr 28, 2016You deck is awesome.. can you share with me a good second deck Rohan themed to use with this?? tnk's |
May 31, 2016Do the horse-breeders primarily serve as chump block fodder? With only 1 mount in the deck, I'm wondering how you typically use them? Thanks! This deck looks really fun, I'm going to have to try it out. |

I feel like Elven-light can help with the card draw issues. With Protector of Lórien and Éowyn, there should be no shortage of opportunities to discard them.
