45 - Celebrimbor's Secret (Progression Series)

Description

This is another fellowship continuing on in my goal to play through all of the quests in release order to learn how all (or most) of the cards interact with one another. The first fellowship for the quests in the core set can be found here, and it contains a slightly more detailed overview of what I'm going for with building these decks. As always, any feedback is appreciated so that I can continue to learn more!

Silvan's continue to be my favorite archetype in the game, so I don't feel too bad using them for multiple quests in this cycle. Especially because the addition of Galadriel and desire to keep enemies in staging means that this deck plays quite a bit differently from my previous iterations.

My combo of Haldir of Lórien and Dúnhere worked quite well for Trouble in Tharbad, so I decided to give it a go in this quest as well. Since so many enemies keep getting added to staging, I figured it would be easier to just pick them off up there and not have to deal with some of the nasty engagement or shadow effects in this quest. Since enemies are going to be stuck up in staging, I needed to make sure I had enough Willpower to quest over them, so getting Nenya is pretty important to add her willpower to Éowyn and get over the hump. Northern Tracker really helps clear out the locations in staging before they can get scoured away.

Most of the enemies in the quest require Dunhere and Haldir to be wielding multiple weapons, so I stacked the Dunhere deck with 12 weapons and Bofur to hopefully be able to get them out on the board quickly. Thanks to some helpful folks on the CotR discord group, I learned that Haldir can have a Rivendell Blade attached, which serves as a nice way to be able to indirectly boost Dunhere's attack as well. This can be incredibly helpful when trying to finish off Bellach or the Prowling Orcs which he can't quite kill in one go by himself.
