HappyHappy has a newer deck inspired by this one: Up to Dunland Trap, Resource Accellerator
A brave group of four adventurers are currently working through all of the quests in chronological order of appearance using only cards available at the time of publication. We've hit a rather tough snag at the Dunland Trap, so I'm redoing my deck design with an attempt at a new approach.
There are three goals for this deck:
- Play Lord of Morthond and Legacy of Durin for lots and lots of card draw.
- Play lots and lots of Dwarfs using A Good Harvest.
- Play We Are Not Idle for resource generation along with Lure of Moria/Strength of Arms and Tome of Atanatar to cycle resource generation. The first one or two uses of We Are Not Idle will be targeted on this deck to fuel the deck, and later uses will be used to feed a significant number of resources to other decks.
This deck is designed to be played in the second or third player position. It needs another deck to go first for setup, and it wants another deck to go after to leverage the resource creation.
This deck requires the following:
- The first player position is an "accelerator deck," which is our term for a deck with a primary focus of playing 3x Deep Knowledge and 3x Legacy of Númenor among other cards, such as Campfire Tales or key attachments, for other decks in the very first turn of the game.
- The accelerator deck additionally will play Steward of Gondor on Dain Ironfoot to enable Lord of Morthond.
This deck would like other decks to have the following cards:
- Campfire Tales, because card draw is king for this deck.
- Lórien's Wealth, because this deck needs a couple of key cards to get going. Heed the Dream is more efficient for unblocking decks, but we don't have that card available to us yet.
- Beravor, for the same reason.
- Message from Elrond and A Good Harvest, as A Good Harvest is the most significant potential block for this deck.
