Pirate Brahm 1044

NOTE: The past few months have been kind to Lore, so I find myself regularly revising this deck. First we get a 'free' trap in the form of Entangling Nets, followed by more questing power with Ghân-buri-Ghân, and then Treebeard's new bestie, Ioreth. Now the rangers get their day with some Mablungesque ally shenanigans from Guardian of Ithilien, and now it's even easier to annihilate those trapped enemies with the shiny new Ranger Spear. All these features in a mono deck? Inconceivable!

On to the deck...

Rangers and Ents work together to provide solid questing while taking some of the bite out of any enemies that pop out of the encounter deck. There's plenty of draw, so don't worry about it having more than 50 cards.

Damrod drives card draw by tossing out those cheap traps, while Mablung or Guardian of Ithilien can push your engaged enemies into them. Henamarth Riversong and Interrogation will help you find more quarry from the Encounter deck. Anborn and Erebor Hammersmith will keep you fresh in traps after their previous occupants are -ahem- evicted.

Ambush is a great defense trap, provided you can crunch the victim before it gets a chance to attack. Fortunately, you've got some strong attackers on your team.

Haldir of Lórien can quest and ready up with Wingfoot, then bring some pain to trapped enemies with his Ranger Spear. The spear also makes him even more effective at softening up foes in the staging area.

Treebeard is your primary defender when the traps let you down. Give him Lembas and A Burning Brand. Using these two cards, he can block, cancel shadow, pump up, heal, ready, then attack with a satisfying squish. Use the Erebor Hammersmith to heat up more Lembas if you need it.

When you're flush with traps, Treebeard can use his ability to focus on questing or killing. Don't worry, Ioreth, Warden of Healing, and Wellinghall Preserver will take care of his wounds.

This deck is a little weak on threat reduction, so I keep Gandalf on the sideboard if you need him.
