The Thematic Saga continues with Breaking of the Fellowship.

The video can be found here: https://youtu.be/zWJR77zGwdg

In this series I am trying to use as many thematic cards as possible as I play the Lord of the Rings Saga quests in order, in a modified campaign mode. The modification is that I will not be raising my threat if I swap heroes in-between quests.

Sometimes, the cards just happen to fall in the most thematic ways possible. In this video I don' t think I could have had the last stand between Boromir and the orcs work out any better. I decided to use Silvan characters in this build because this is our only chance to see a large group of elves fighting. From this point on we have only Legolas and the twin sons of Elrond.

The Fellowship lost Gandalf in Moria, and are now on the run being pursued by a host of orcs. They reach the woods of Lorien and are greeted by Haldir of Lórien, and his two brothers; Rúmil and Orophin. These are the Silvans, The Tree People. They hide the weary travelers up in the trees while a Host of Galadhrim, using Feigned Voices, lure the orcs away and destroy them.

The Fellowship now travels to the heart of Lorien and there they meet the Lady Galadriel. Frodo Baggins and Sam Gamgee gaze into the Mirror of Galadriel and see many troubling things. She also spoke of her ring of power, Nenya.

The Fellowship rests for a while and then departs on boats loaded with Lembas and they set off down the Great River. Before they leave they each receive a cloak made by Galadriel's Handmaidens that are clasped with a Leaf Brooch. In addition Aragorn received the Celebrían's Stone.

Once they reach the Falls of Rauros they must now decide how to proceed. Boromir, has had his mind made up for him and is overcome by the lure of the Ring. After attempting to take the Ring from Frodo by force he redeems his valour by defending Merry and Pippin for as long as possible against the Tough Uruk-Hai. He begins the fight with a mighty Horn's Cry from the Horn of Gondor. Using Gondorian Discipline he defeats many foes, but ultimately falls to many black feathered arrows. The Hobbit Duo are taken before Aragorn, Gimli and Legolas arrive.

Frodo and Sam cross the river in one of the boats and set off on their own (or is there someone else with them?) as the three hunters track down Merry and Pippin.

Last time we will see all the Fellowship together in this Campaign! How good is Moneybaggins?! Turns out access to 5 or 6 resources a round makes it pretty easy to get good stuff on the table.

@Marctimmins89 yes, he is really good. Especially when exhausting the ring has little downside in this quest.
