Ancalagon's Challenge: Conflict at the Carrock 1.0

The idea of this challenge series is to not only do progression, but also introduce cards from the current release. Rules are:

• Progression style;
• Deck must use hero(s) from the current release; and
• Deck must also use all cards of the same sphere(s) from the current release as those of heroes used.

So the new hero is Frodo, who we will check out for his combat defense against the trolls.

Post-play review: This deck works great. I always managed to have Steward of Gondor out, so that helped.

• Put Steward of Gondor on Frodo so that he can purchase all the precious toys. Also, put Song of Kings on him so he can help pay for cards and have A Burning Brand attached.
• You'll need to quest Beravor at the beginning, but as soon as you can quest without her, start drawing cards. Put Unexpected Courage on her to help free her up for that.
• Discard Beorn and Winged Guardian to Protector of Lórien and then call them into play with Stand and Fight.
• Buff up Frodo Baggins to defend with all three Dúnedain Warning and both A Burning Brand and one Unexpected Courage
• Put Nor am I a Stranger on Beorn so that when Éomund leaves play, he readies. You can put the other on Frodo Baggins if you'd like.
• Put one Self Preservation on Beorn.
• Longbeard Map-Maker was great for precision questing, but of course, once Henamarth Riversong comes out, then you know beforehand what to quest.
• Use Second Breakfast to call back Forest Snare, if you've had to use one early on one of the Hill Trolls or the Marsh Adder.
• Winged Guardian is basically insurance against A Frightened Beast, in case you are preserving A Test of Will for another treachery.
• With The Galadhrim's Greeting, Gandalf's Search, and Sneak Attack (to buzz in Gandalf cheaply) you should be able to control your threat.
