Alduc 590

Alduc has a newer deck inspired by this one: Bouncing Elves - Updated Evergreen Edition

I expected my Bouncing Elves deck to be strong, but it exceeded my expectations. The current cycle of the game has brought us Thranduil, The Elvenking and Quicker Than Sight, really upping the power level of this archetype.

This new version lowers the strength of the deck, but for a good reason. I wanted a permanent version of this deck that I could keep built in my deckbox without hindering my ability to create other decks (I dislike proxying).

I therefore removed what high-powered staple cards the deck had: Steward of Gondor, Unexpected Courage and even A Test of Will. The deck still functions really well without them, even if it becomes slightly slower to set up at the beginning of the game.

Some of the stronger Silvan allies can be useful in other decks, but nowadays the cardpool is deep enough that it's not really a bother to make do without them.

This way I'll be able to enjoy playing this really fun deck for years to come, modifying it only as new card are being released.

Looks really neat! That’s a ton of allies, do you find it’s hard to pay for them all?

With a little luck some of the deck's more expensive allies will enter play using The Tree People, this goes a long way toward reducing the resource load. When playing the previous iteration of this deck (where Steward of Gondor took care of resource generation instead of O Lórien!), in the late game I was so rich I would often run out of resource tokens. O Lórien! makes things a bit tighter, but fortunately allies entering play using Thranduil's ability do not require a resource match - this goes a long way toward smoothing the resource curve.

If everything goes well there comes a point with this deck where the board is already saturated with allies, and the only reason to play more of them is their enter play effect.

Cool! I’ll give it a try.
