This is a fun deck to play if you like/need combat! This should definitely be used in multiplayer/two-handed with another deck that can quest or handle locations. I think this deck would really shine in a three or four player game to handle a lot of the combat remotely. The starting threat is high, but as long as you quest successfully, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

Use Grimbeorn the Old as a sentinel defender and then he doesn't need ranged to attack the enemy he just sentinel defended the way his card reads (thanks for confirmation!). Then use Bard the Bowman and Legolas as needed as ranged attackers. You defend for 3 and attack for 9 and automatically reduce the enemies defense by 4. This clears enemies quickly! Use Hands Upon the Bow, Quick Strike, or Great Yew Bow with Bard the Bowman can snipe some enemies in the staging area. Legolas and Blade of Gondolin are very helpful in contributing progress in this deck.

There are a lot of allies, maybe too many with poor resource generation. Beorning Skin-changer can be used to get Beorn or Giant Bear into play for a lower cost.

Resources are difficult to generate since you spend 1 resource from Grimbeorn the Old for his effect. Necklace of Girion should allow him to generate that extra resource. The complementary deck should probably have a leadership hero with Steward of Gondor and Parting Gifts.

If the other player has leadership with Steward of Gondor, they can send some your way with Parting Gifts or Théodred. Horn of Gondor will be able to generate some resources, but not reliably. Just assume you will only get 2 resources per round in this deck.

If the other deck is hobbits with Sam Gamgee and Merry, you use Merry's readying to keep putting the hurt on the enemies!
