Stand Together. Worst tactics card in the core set. Used abput 0 times by sober players in its history. Well, both Denethor and myself do not care for your Bullsh**t.

This is the plan: get multiple Gondorian Spearmen with Spears of the Citadel out quickly. A very Good Tale, Bofur and the Foe-hammer/Háma draw engine will help on it. Now you're ready: use Stand Together to defend an attack with Beregondand the Gondorian Spearmen with Spears of the Citadel every single round thanks to Háma. That's a lot of direct damage.

Fantastic idea, I really like that combo. I'd drop A Very Good Tale with so few allies.

Yes, it could be changed by... Okay, I have no idea what it can be changed for, but it can be changed!

Maybe the new Rod of the Steward since you have virtually no use for your Leadership resources.

This combo is hilarious, but note that Stand Together requires the enemy to be attacking you, so you can't Sentinel-direct damage enemies with it. (Sadly!)

I used Stand Together sober! I'd say it's better than Rain of Arrows from the core set, (though the latter can also shine if you build around it). The biggest problem early on is it was hard to build an ally swarm with the small number of allies you had in the first cycle, and then Beregond's huge printed defense kind of rendered it irrelevant by the third cycle.

For a while, though, I had some good success with Boromir + Spearmen + Guards of the Citadel + For Gondor! in the early card pool, when high defense totals were really hard to come by. And in the rare rounds when the Spirit player gets out a Light the Beacons, it's still WTFINSANE, ("I block all of my enemies with about 18 defense").

One thought-- if you're going the direct damage route, you could swap Samwise out for Thalin to get you one point closer to every kill from the start. You lose access to Leadership, and you lose two points of (much-needed) willpower, but you also gain access to things like Thicket of Spears for when you're still building up and not ready to take attacks yet.

Yeah, this deck is practically only viable in multiplayer. Can't quest that much and will only be able to take an enemy or two at once... Not to mention it requires several different cards to work.
