Discard Pile
|
Durins_Father 3137
This mono deck is focused on Caldara and her ability. Fun thing about it is that it is not limited to how many times you can discard Caldara in each game. This leads me to believe that you could bring out every ally in this deck by recyceling Fortune or Fate with Will of the West, Map of Earnil and Dwarven Tomb.
The discard pile of this deck is fuelled by various effects like Emery, the nature of Rohan allies and the discard abilities of both Éowyn and Arwen Undómiel. This will make sure that once Caldara enters the discard pile, her ability makes sure that 2 (or 3 with Sword-thain) allies will enter play. Right after that effect, play Fortune or Fate to revive Caldara.
There shouldn't be any attachments on Caldara since she will leave play a few times each game, nor should there be any resources. You can pile those on Arwen Undómiel so that she can quest for a lot with Lay of Nimrodel and she doesn't have to exhaust once Light of Valinor is attached to her. She could then defend for a lot by swapping her with her . This trick can also be used with Éowyn.
Ultimately, you'd want Glorfindel as your recipient of Sword-thain for his ability and to attach Light of Valinor on him. He brings along a sturdy amount of to help you defeat some enemies.
This deck lacks something that the entire sphere is lacking, attackpower. This is one of the few flaws in the deck, but boy can it quest. Defence is done mostly with the allies since that fuels the discardpile a bit.
Threat reduction is limited to Damrod and Elfhelm but that was not one of the main themes of this deck.
This deck is great for supporting other players with allies, it can also put quite some progress tokens on things in the staging area and you would almost always be able to cancel nasty things coming out of the encounter deck.
