Durins_Father 3137
A classic Ranger deck which uses both the Rangers of Ithilien and the Rangers of Lothlorien. Combined, this deck will bring a lot of traps into to the staging area while supporting the other players with Ranged support. Since the deck is a mono deck, you'll quickly go through your deck.
There have been some other cards added like Master of the Forge to dig for traps which can be played for 0 cost (except Forest Snare). This is done with the combination of Master of Lore and Damrod who both trigger their effect on the first trap you play. After that, you can play any other for 1 cost (2 for Forest Snare).
Once the traps in the staging area are stuck to enemies, a wide variety of effects trigger: Damrod lets you draw a card, Faramir gets +1 and you can play effects like Forest Patrol to kill the enemy before it attacks. When questing, you can scry with Henamarth Riversong or a just played Ithilien Lookout to trigger Wingfoot and if the top card is an enemy, play Expecting Mischief to deal damage to that enemy of use Ithilien Tracker to reduce its to 0.
The allies in this deck are a bit expensive but once you get Master of Lore out and you don't trigger his effect for traps, you could play your allies at -1 cost. The Silvan allies can also be put into play with The Tree People.
Readying effects for this deck are included with Wingfoot and Lembas to help you quest and heal at the same time. You could also choose to let all enemies stay in the staging area with effects like Advance Warning and then snipe them with Ranger Bow, Haldir of Lórien and Faramir with a Great Yew Bow.
Speaking of the Bow, you'll notice some cards splashed into this deck. This is mainly to make Faramir able to finish off enemies in the staging area with Hands Upon the Bow or Great Yew Bow. The Song of Battle can be found with Master of the Forge or Rivendell Minstrel. The Black Arrow can be used to great effect with this to finish off a large troll in the staging area for example.
