Gauze 81
Hobbit deck introducing some hobbit allies from the ered mithrin cycle, which helps create a thematic experience for The Black Riders.
The deck features the basic mechanics of a hobbit Deck. Sam Gamgee takes on the role of questing and defending, Merry becomes a killing-machine once equipped with the Dagger of Westernesse and Pippin helps questing and paying for important cards such as Fast Hitch, Protector of Lórien or Self Preservation. Keen-eyed Took turned out to be a fun card to play together with Expert Treasure-hunter and this might make him useful to a degree.
Son of Arnor's effect when entering game resulta in a great companion for Merry (together with Quick strike), Farmer Maggot, and Bywater Shirriff's abilities. Not to mention having Gaffer Gamgee to stop the Nazgul from attacking in the combat phase.
Elf-stone or Parting Gifts can alleviate the cost of playing these allies, even more if you have Steward of Gondor on the board, which goes on Sam together with Song of Wisdom to help pay for lore cards.
Drinking Song and The Shirefolk will help you gain a greater control over threat, hand manage ment and card draw.
I hope you'll enjoy this deck as much as I have!
