For Steve G!

The three starting heroes in this deck are quite powerful, but the drawback is a very high starting threat. With Gandalf, 3x Woodmen's Clearing, and Aragorn's ability, you should be able to keep threat under control. Obviously there are many deck customizations possible, and as you get more experience, you can change things up for the quest at hand, and for your preferred playstyles.

You have good questing power from your heroes. The allies serve as support for questing, blocking attacks, and perhaps defeating some enemies too. Once you've engaged an enemy, you can take care of it without ever killing it via Forest Snare, though you also have decent attack power from Aragorn and Glorfindel, depending on the needs of the situation.

For card draw, you have Gléowine and Master of the Forge. Remember you can only have 1 copy of a unique character in play at a time. There are 3 copies of Gléowine in the deck because it provides efficient card draw, and any extra copies you find can be good fodder for Protector of Lórien.

Gaffer Gamgee isn't particularly powerful, and you'll almost never use his combat ability, but he can still quest or attack for 1, and he's a hobbit, so you can get extra cards from Drinking Song. You also have Daeron's Runes to draw into the cards you really want to see.

With Erebor Hammersmith and some good timing, you can likely recycle quite a few copies of Woodmen's Clearing.

Another excellent combo is Glorfindel and Asfaloth, which will give you a lot of location control. Remember that if you put enough progress on a location in the staging area, you can still explore it and you'll never have to travel there. That's a very good way of avoiding bothersome travel effects.

Have fun!
