I build this deck for my play through Heirs of Numenor expansion. I played it before with wife using a this fellowship so it was not blind building. I knew I need to be prepared for taking lot of damage, be prepared to quest with defense, attack and willpower.
It was quite obvious choice to use Elrond with Vilya and Beregond as a new addition coming with this box. Third hero was more difficult but finally I found a place for Aragorn, even being aware that starting thread will be high. But anyway, thanks to his ability, you will be decrease it back to 35 once a game.
Take mulligan for Vilya. You really should have it in starting hand. Also Warden of Healing will be crucial. Avoid having high cost allies in starting hand. They are supposed more to spawn with Vilya's ability.
When you will have Gildor Inglorion on the table with Elrond and Vilya you are at very comfortable position. With Gildor Inglorion you will be able to turn back high cost cards from you hand into top of your deck and play them with Vilya.
There are 2 leadership attachments here Steward of Gondor and Sword that was Broken. Thy are supposed to be play with Vilya ability.
Where I put attachments?
- A Burning Brand for Beregond (after adding him a Song of Wisdom)
- Steward of Gondor for Elrond
- Unexpected Courage on Elrond or Beregond (if Elrond has already Light of Valinor or is going to have quite soon you may consider playing it to Beregond)
- Sword that was Broken for Aragorn
