This has been a crazy good deck to play. I have been amazed at how consistently powerful it is even with 100 cards. It has rarely lost and I am thinking about testing it against the worst nightmare decks and see how it does.
Does anyone have thoughts on how to beef it up even further?
Once this deck starts rolling (usually turn 2) I usually get 1-2 allies out a turn sometimes 4. At that point, it rolls over almost any shadow.
It has:
- Threat management (-10 when you threat out, which is rare) if you are worried just don't draw as quickly.
- Card draw (right off the bat, King Under the Mountain, Gandalf) and this card draw is made more powerful as both A Perilous Voyage and King Under the Mountain let you look at 2 cards and choose the one you want.
- Resource acceleration (Thorin Oakenshield, Steward of Gondor)
- Resource smoothing (Narvi's Belt)
It doesn't have:
- Much cancellation only 3 A Test of Will
- Any shadow cancel (could add Hasty Stroke and/or DĂșnedain Watcher)
.
With a 100 card deck you have to have multiple cards to mulligan for. You want one (or two) of the following cards:
- King Under the Mountain (gets card draw rolling)
- Fili (lets you get to 5 dwarves turn 2)
- Steward of Gondor ($$$$)
Other key cards for the deck:
- A Very Good Tale (great with Kili and Fili)
- Soldier of Erebor (super powerful once he is out! you can discard to your hearts content)
- Dwarven Sellsword (the extra cost is not horrible once you get Steward of Gondor out and he can get you to the 5 dwarves needed cheaply)
- Narvi's Belt (once you get this Thorin Oakenshield pays for everything!)

Mar 16, 2021i think u will have problems with anduin nightmare. troll 1. round is heavy. draw a brood or the 10/10 location and its mostly done. into ithilien could also be hard. |

My end board state was great, if I had not had to raise my threat by 10 first turn I probably would have made it. I passed the first quest and probably only needed 2 more turns (I was questing for 24) to win. |
@seastan I am thinking about trying to attempt a playthrough of all quests with this deck. Being the only person I know who has done this I was wondering if you had any thoughts.
This deck has a lot of the same strengths your One Deck has, strength to handle initial bad enemies, a fair amount of questing out of the gate and increasing quickly. A lot of attack if you want. Playing 2-3 cards per turn and drawing as many as well.
Let me know what you think, and which quests will most likely be the most difficult for this deck.
