Rating:

  • Preferred Player Count: 2 - 4
  • Complexity: Medium
  • Time Intensity: Medium
  • Focus: Balanced

Synopsis:

This Bond of Friendship deck can do a bit of anything and is mainly built around side Quests. Due to having a lot of resources every round, you have the means to get some of the best allies in the game into play rather quickly, something The Storm Comes helps you further with. In the early rounds, clearing some useful side quests is your main priority. Later on, you will look to adapt to whatever your group requires with your ally and side quest pool.

How it's played:

Usually one tries to play Peace, and Thought at the end of the first round. So as a result of this, any opening hand that either has this powerful drawing effect or can speed up your start with Legacy of Númenor (or The Seeing-stone to grab Legacy) is worth keeping. The setup action for Thurindir usually searches for Gather Information (to grab Peace, and Thought if you missed it in your opening hand), but others can be chosen if it suits the scenario. The second target is in most cases to complete The Storm Comes if you have access to it. Most of your heroes are usuallly sent to the quest, only Frodo is helt back (depending on the situation).

Strengths: Well-roundedness, Adaptability to various challenges

Weaknesses: (((Vulnerable to enemy-heavy starts?))), Quests that punish the use of side quests
