After (half-)watching one of Chad's how-to deck build videos and drawing on some of my experience with MtG, I decided to try a deck build with the cards that I have purchased thus far. Threat Level: 31 I wanted a deck with Elrond and Vilya. I remember Beravor is "good for card draw" and I put Sam Gamgee in for low Threat and Leadership rather than a mono-green/Lore deck.
Questing: Good/Ok Elrond is good, but he may be out of play due to Vilya. I tried to put in other allies to help with the questing and chumping.
Combat: I would say this is Good/Ok as well. It depends on what I'm up against.
Defense: Ok I think this is something weak in this deck. I think I rely too much on chumping vs strong defense.
Combat tricks: Well, I do have the Gandalf-Sneak Attack combo going. I also put in a lot of staging and traps to slow and stall enemies (if I can get them out). What I think I need is resource control, something to increase my resources...so I added Steward of Gondor.

A very interesting deck, you could add an Unexpected Courage or two to give Elrond a 2nd action (for instance Vilya and quest or defence). I also noticed that you didn't add cards for shadow control or "when revealed" effects. These cards could really mess up your entire game, so how about a A Test of Will and a Hasty Stroke or even a A Burning Brand for Elrond?
