After the War of the Ring, King Aragorn instructs the Steward to go on a mission with some of the last elves and dwarves of Middle Earth. This deck is meant to be a bittersweet reminder of what might have been if the Free Peoples had worked together more in their golden days, before the Dominion of Men. I wasn't sure how well it would work, but it does and it's fun! The idea is to get Steward of Gondor on Faramir as soon as possible and then use the likes of Errand-rider, Envoy of Pelargir, Galadriel, Proud Hunters and Squire of the Citadel to pay for the high cost items in this deck. King Under the Mountain and Gildor's ability give this deck a healthy amount of card draw to find the key cards for the moment. This is the first Valour deck I've built and been happy with. Hope Rekindled helps to find or pay for those events and Pillars of the Kings, Favor of the Valar and Gandalf help to stop you from threating out. I managed to beat Helm's Deep with this deck and it was great fun! I've managed a win against that quest once before, but this feels like a deck built for that quest. Even with four enemies coming down at Stage 5, I was able to prevail! The deck is actually quite versatile and there are often different tactics available. Faramir's ability gets a lot out of Bofur, Knight of the White Tower and Wandering Exile, while the heroes can become very potent with Celebrían's Stone for Gildor, Visionary Leadership for Faramir and Dwarrowdelf Axe and Durin's Axe for Thorin Stonehelm. Pity the encounter deck that comes up against the Steward of Gondor and the King under the Mountain!
