In my secondary gondorian deck, Faramir and a group of his Ithilien's rangers join forces with the haradrim finest.
This is mainly a support-focused deck, created as a companion for my dúnedain deck. It requires a few rounds for it to start working properly. Anyhow, it also can beat some tough quests on its own.
Heroes:
Notes:
- Mulligan for Steward of Gondor.
- Ranger Spikes is also a good card to see.
- Emyn Arnen Ranger, Guardian of Ithilien and Southron Refugee can all be played in one round.
- Jubayr and Yazan will be played with Kahliel's ability.
- Southron Refugees can reduce their 5-cost by up to 2.
- Kahliel's Tribesmen are mainly here to boost Jubayr's .
- Every extra copy of The Big Three will be the perfect target for Kahliel's special ability.
- Ranger Spikes are going to permanently boost:
- Faramir's .
- Emyn Arnen Ranger's .
- Guardian of Ithilien's response synergizes with Faramir's ability, much better when the Spikes are already in play.
- Thereafter, they will be the epitome of chump-blocking.
- Even though this is not a secrecy deck, Ithilien Lookout's response and stats make them still valuable as a 3-cost ally.
- Heed the Dream is our best option for card drawing by the early game.
- By mid/late game, these duties will fall to the Rod of the Steward (fueled each round by the Steward of Gondor).
- Pillars of the Kings are our only chance for threat reduction.
- By late game resources shouldn't be an issue for playing it.
Sideboard:
- Forest Snare is always a great trap to see but it goes against Faramir's ability.
