This my deck to beat the Dunland trap without discarding any cards at stage 2. So we can't play items, mounts or more than one ally.

It can be difficult to muster enough willpower withou allies, so this deck uses Sam Gamgee with Fireside Song and a bunch of other songs. He can easy get 6 willpower, and with Steward of Gondor on him it's not to hard to pay for Song of Hope. And once you get Fast Hitches and Blood of NĂșmenor on him he's also a defending beast, even if I almost never triggered his abilty.

The choice for our one ally was pretty easy: Gandalf can give us some extra quest power and still have strong combat stats. With the threat reduction of Beregond and Aragorn it's very easy to keep him around. In one of my wins I had him in the game from turn 2 on and finished with 35 threat.

Healing is also an important thing in this quest, mainly because of the treacherys, but you probably have to take some undefended attacks. Because I can't use allies I included some uncommon healing options with DĂșnedain Remedy and Healing Herbs. You can also use Power of Orthanc to deal with "In Need of Rest".

I was able to win 2 out of 6 games, which I think is not a bad statistic for this quest. In 3 of my defeats I had to engage a second enemy on turn 1 and things ran out of control. In one game I had the game almost under control, but a chain of four shadowcards boosted a 3 attack enemy and it killed Beregond. In both my wins I could avoid combat at the begin, once revealing just high engagement cost enemies and locations and the other time playing all three Forest Snares.
