I tried a few combos to the new Dale Noble Bard son of Brand and Brand son of Bain. Spirit Beregond closes a gap which this new hero pair features: early defense, because of a high starting threat (19+x!). On the other hand Bard offers acces to the Gondorian Shield, that makes Beregond to one of the best defenders in the whole cardpool.
In my first version I used Steward of Gondor but I realised soon, that I benefit more from item-attachments and added copies of Spare Hood and Cloak and the Mariner's Compass.
The oldfashion sneaky-Gandalf-combo performs great in this deck. If I the card-draw stops, because I don't have attachments, he gives acces to cards. While Beregond stabilises my threat-level, Gandalfs responses to doomed-cards.
All in all this deck is fun to play and worked very well against the Journey along the Anduin or the new Poros quest.

Jun 29, 2018Very true. I haven't played with this deck type much, so that part doesn't click for me yet. I'd just include the destrier then. I'd probably drop a Map and a Shield. to include two destriers. |
Jul 20, 2018My only fear is the ability to draw the King of Dale - do you find that to be an issue as your card draw is dependant on either Gandalf sneaking or not drawing the Dale allies that don't match your resources. |

Really like this deck. Beregond is one of my favorite characters. I would probably drop a few cards to add in Armored Destrier and Steed of the Mark, as Beregond is an unshakable beast with the destrier.
