Attack on Dol Guldur (two players)

Description

On our first attempt(s) on Attack of Dol Guldur I just put two decks together directly before we started to play and I included everything where I thought it could be fun. Werewolves jumped over out traps and raging necromancers terminated our allies. In short: it didn't went that well. Multiple times. I didn't expect such a difficult encounter and so I decided for the next session I had to create two strong decks.

This here is the result. And these decks beat the crap out of Dol Goldur. We succeed on the first try and it felt we have played a completly different encounter compared with the first attempts.

The Noldor

The deck gets out a lot of allies very quickly. You will be able to quest for 20 to 30 points of willpower. Just ensure the Ethir Swordsman are protected by Anfalas Herdsman or an Honour Guard to avoid being killed by the Necromancer's Rage. Also the deck is responsible for healing and has to improve the draw of the other deck by Gléowine.

The fighters

You really want to get on Beregond a Gondorian Shield and an Unexpected Courage. This sets up your main blocker. With one or two Honour Guards in play, he will be able to defend against any attack. Legolas kills things and Éowyn speeds up the decks. The rest of the deck is just cards to overcome opponents or cancel stuff.

--

The only encounter specific cards of the decks are Thror's Map and Thrór's Key. If you want to play these decks against other adventures, you should replace them. Mind the decks are optimized for speed. For example a second Silver Harp could be handy, but this is just not a card that helps you to fill the board as quick as possible.

Thanks! It worked today against Attack on Dol Guldur standard two handed at first attemp (after many failures with other decks).
