Caldara-decks are often struggling to muster enough combat strength. The Spirit Sphere has lots of good questing allies but is lacking strong non-unique attackers or defenders. A popular way to get around this is using Círdan the Shipwright + Narya, but i wanted to try something different and so I'm using another way to boost our allies: Bard son of Brand.
His first ability is the key for this deck. It allows us to play Weapons and Armory down. While our heroes are not great targets, there are some decent combat allies. Raiment of War and Hauberk of Mail can turn Jubayr into a crazy strong defender and can also allow Elfhelm or Háma to tank smaller enemies. And if you have to trigger Hama's abilty at some point you get your armour back. At the same time Glorfindel with Rivendell Blade can thanks to his in-build readying take down multiple enemies in a turn. The other item we use is Ranger Provisions to compensate the lack of Ressource Generation in Spirit, especially when your missing Prince Imrahil.
The other allies are mostly classic Caldara allies like Northern Tracker or Pelargir Shipwright. Sam Gamgee is a card I didn't see a lot in Caldara-decks but getting a free ally that can participate in questing and combat is a good deal. Same is true for the Rider of Rohan which we can activate with multiple sidequests.
I normally mulligan for Imrahill or Gather Information to fetch to get an extra ally out of Caldara. But if I don't find him, I don't bother searching very long for him, often you need a kickstart with two extra allies on turn 2 or even 1.
Elfhelm is in the sideboard for quest with a lot of threat raises and Power of Orthanc for conditions. Blue Mountain Trader are here for higher player counts where they can help to get ressources.
