RogueWraith 169

My Mono-Leadership, Harad-themed take on a Fellowship deck. Only tested in multiplayer, this deck was able to get the Fellowship active consistently by round three, sometimes earlier. Look for A Very Good Tale, Steward of Gondor, or Captain's Wisdom, along with a couple of allies to get things rolling.

The heroes are all geared towards turning out the allies. Frodo Baggins is useful to get use out of their big stats, and he effectively holds your threat stationary once the Fellowship is active. Kahliel is the main target for resource acceleration, obviously. Denethor just gets the whole thing set up quickly. I toyed with Faramir to get more use out of the allies' big stats, and there probably is a good deck out there that makes use of him.

As far as allies go, the fall into a few categories. Bill the Pony, Ceorl, Merry, and the like are multiples to ensure that a few low-cost allies can come out and reduce the resource strain. Ceorl is also great because you can shove him off on another player, and they can give him back if the Fellowship goes offline.

The rest of the allies are big boys. Their beefier stats, even if you don't use their abilities, make them valuable additions. They can usually fill multiple roles. Erestor is a three-of to help card draw, which is a real weakness of the deck. Lastly, there are the Harad allies. All three have never hit the table at once, but each is a star when they're on the table, and Firyal and Yazan are great targets for Frodo's ability.

Once the Fellowship is active, there isn't much else to spend resources on. Denethor can safely shuffle his off to Gondorian heroes elsewhere on the table, the excess Harad allies can be discarded for Kahliel's ability. Otherwise, cycle Strength of Arms as much as possible until you win.
