Pure Series:

I realized that my original Pure Series has become out of date, so I've remade many (if not all) of my decks.

This is a series of about 10 decks that I made that don’t share any cards with each other. Meaning I can only use Steward of Gondor in one of my 10 decks. This forces me to use different methods of card draw and resource generation.

I have every expansion, but only 1 core set :(

I do include different cards of the same unique character in different decks. (Ex. Haldir of Lórien hero in my Scout deck and Haldir of Lórien ally in my Silvan deck.)

Hobbit Deck:

This Hobbit deck is not a “hide in the shadows” Hobbit deck, but a attach a ton of stuff to Sam Gamgee and Merry. Like most Hobbit decks, it relies on having your threat be lower than the enemy's engagement cost. Our starting three heroes are all very powerful for a low starting threat.

Opening Hand:

You are looking for:

  1. Hobbit Cloak
  2. Dagger of Westernesse
  3. Fast Hitch If you are lucky enough to get 2 Friend of Friends in your opening hand, you better keep it.

Also, remember to search for Power of Command with The One Ring on Setup. I put The One Ring on Sam Gamgee as a thematic choice as he was one of the few people that ever carried the ring.

Card Draw:

Pippin's ability has a nice draw bonus, so don't shy away from taking enemies. Foe-hammer can also be very handy, but you have to wait till you get the Dagger of Westernesse on Merry. Gléowine can be used on yourself or other players and Drinking Song is really nice to try and find all those attachments.

Resources:

Tighten Our Belts provides the resources, but with not a single card costing more than 2 resources, it can also be used on other players.

Defending:

Sam Gamgee is your main defender. He starts off with a measly 1 defense. But you can attach Staff of Lebethron, Hobbit Cloak, and Ring Mail onto Sam in order to turn him into a beast with a total of 5 defense, 4 hit points, and no shadow + readying (if the enemies engagement cost is higher than your threat). Add Rosie Cotton, Bill the Pony, Friend of Friends, and Sting into the mix and you've got a wide variety of options to help out on defense.

Gaffer Gamgee is a really nice, repeatable Feint that can be used until you get Sam Gamgee set up.

Derndingle Warrior is also a 5 option while Sam Gamgee is still getting ready, but also has the benefit of being sentinel.

Attack:

Merry is your main attacker. You want to attach the first copy of Fast Hitch that you get onto him, second one goes on Sam Gamgee. Same for the Friend of Friends. Rosie Cotton can boost his attack too.

Hit Points:

Because hobbits have almost no hit points I’ve put in The Long Defeat and Bill the Pony to help them survive.
