It is often thought that Spirit is the big questing sphere, and while at first glance at the Core Set, that may be true, whilst the game evolved and grew, Leadership has risen to take the crown of the best questing sphere. This deck tries to make the most out of this by bringing a lot of allies and using various effects to boost their . That way, the players can rely on for their cancellation and on for the big quest pushes.

The main combo in the deck will rely on a Core Set card that has laid dormant in many a coaster during the development of the game, Ever Vigilant will let you ready a single ally for 1 resource. The prime candidate for this effect will be Faramir another Core Set card which has a better reputation among the players. Note that his ability requires that he is to be exhausted but does not have a restriction as to how many times you can trigger his action. Ever Vigilant alongside Strength of Arms will allow Faramir to ready and exhaust again to choose the player with the most allies committed to the quest and will boost their by one for each time that he exhausts. You might want to go for the Strength of Arms first as it will ready every ally on the board whilest keeping them commited to the quest. After that you can use Ever Vigilant to only target Faramir.

You could also use Grim Resolve to ready heroes as well. However, all heroes included in this deck will have their own build-in readying effect. You could for instance quest with everyone, gaining one resource from Théodred which you can use to ready a hero with Heir of Mardil. Then, you can ready with all your allies with Strength of Arms. You then defend with a Squire of the Citadel which will likely destroy him, leading to Prince Imrahil readying and giving a resource to whoever has Steward of Gondor attached. Spending one resource then from Aragorn will lead to every hero on your side having quested and being ready to attack/defend.

To pump out allies, you can make good use of Citadel Custodian in combination with A Very Good Tale. Once you have enough low cost Gondor allies, you can play the Custodian for next to free. He still has a printed 5 cost which can allow for a free Gandalf or another high cost ally.

Usually, the player has the most allies on the table so you'll likely use Faramirs effect on yourself. Pair this with effects like Sword that was Broken on Aragorn and Visionary Leadership on Prince Imrahil or any other hero with the Steward of Gondor attached to make a massive boost to the of each ally.

Please let me know if the combo Faramir/Strength of Arms/ Ever Vigilant works and he hasn't been errata'd (yet). Otherwise, you will still get a solid chunk of each turn and having your allies ready to do battle.
