This deck is really just Seastan's excellent Dunedain Trappers deck with a few modifications. The changes are that I took out Dúnedain Hunter, Descendants of Kings, Tighten Our Belts and Ranger Spikes. In their places went Warden of Healing x 2, Wingfoot x 1, Unexpected Courage x 1, Song of Travel x 1 (takes the place of 1 Celebrían's Stone to make up for the fact that I only have 1 Core set), A Burning Brand x 2 and Entangling Nets.
These change the character of the deck a little bit....The readying is now repeatable and can be fished for with Master of the Forge or Galadriel. It might not have as big an impact as dropping a Descendants of Kings and readying the whole board.
Throwing in Entangling Nets and A Burning Brand allow you to have a good shot at having even more enemies engaged with you long term. It the trap ends up on the right enemy (anyone with an ATK of 4 or lower) you can put the brand on Aragorn and just let the attacks be undefended with no worry about shadows. If the enemy is strong enough that some damage will sneak through then the Warden can help keep him healed up. Last game I played with it I ended up with both nets and all 3 snares holding enemies in the staging area, making all of the Dunedain super strong.
The Sideboard is really just in case you need some extra attack power for a boss character or some encounter scrying to get the nets to hit the best target. Might also think about switching 1 Gondorian Shield for a Dúnedain Warning. A Faramir or two would really boost willpower and fit with the Dunedain with Gondor Ranger support theme. though willpower hasn't really been a limitation so far.
Any feedback is welcome.
Thanks again to Seastan for creating what has been my totally favorite deck to play with so far!!
I believe that a burning brand only works on declared defenders, so throwing one on Aragorn would not allow you to take them undefended and ignore shadow effects.
