Skeffington 230

Introduction

Imrahils ability can work great with Silvans - you have seen that. But it works very good with the Rohan trait and the chump blocking theme, too. Let me show you in this deck guide ;)

Note this Deck is focused on combat and does not quest well.

Playstyle

Prince Imrahil is your primary defender with Gondorian Shield. Most allies have the Warrior trait, so you should almost always find an ally if you use his ability. Nor am I a Stranger lets you use the rest of the allies. Most allies have a discard effect or similar so you can either use this ability or use them to chump block and boost Éomer. If they do not die they will get shuffled back into your deck, which is fine.

Théoden will work as an attacker in this deck with Herugrim and Rohan Warhorse. Also he makes allies cheaper which is important because you have only 2 resources each round, if you want to use Prince Imrahils ability.

Éomer will work as an attacker as well with Firefoot und Rohan Warhorse for multiple attacks. If everything goes well his ability will trigger every round and he can attack twice for 7 ATK. If no discard happened before the attack phase and you have Quick Strike, you may wait with the second attack until after the discard at the end of the combat phase and then attack before the end of the round for 7 ATK ;)

The Events Helm! Helm! and Last Stand all focus on dicarding the ally before it would be automatically discarded :)

Conclusion

Imrahil harmonizes with the Rohan archetype very well and lets you trigger expensive allies for only one resource each round. With some Gondorian Shields and chump blockers this deck can defend a lot of attack.

Éomer is boosted almost permanently and together with Théoden and some Rohan Warhorse you can cut through hordes of enemies with 4 Attackes per round.

Try it out and comment your tweaks :)

It looks like a fun deck to play.

I really like your idea with Helm Helm (+Gamling) to get more profit from allies you put into play. The only card I had in mind to do that was Ride to ruin.

Do you think that, in order to adjust it to solo play, the deck will work if switching Eomer by Tactics Eowyn? Also I think that for solo games, snowmane, or even windfola will be better than Firefoot.

I am unsure about Éowyn for Éomer in solo play because he synergizes so well with this deck. Also you already have enough defense in this deck with imrahil and do not need eowyn with Golden Shield. Herugrim is to expensive on her.

For solo i would trade Théoden for spirit Éowyn and try to live with fewer resources. Expensive allies can be discarded for her effect but you should add some card draw like Ancient Mathom.

I find yours an interesting approach.

Anyway, you maybe misunderstood me. My idea for snowmane was to play it on Théoden, because it doesn't count as a restricted card, and it allows him to quest and ready it for combat.

Ah right I forgot about that. Yes I will definitely add 2 Snowmane in the next iteration of this deck. Still I am unsure if this deck will ever be a good solo deck especially on exploration heavy quests... it is more suited to be fun combat deck with the need of some support.

wehehe, I just added some of your tweaks to version 2.0 thanks :) Also I noticed, that you can recycle the allies played with Imrahils ability with Gamling to your hand, once he is fielded - how cool is that :)

Just noticed there is a difference between beeing discarded and getting placed into the discard pile by an deadly attack. So sad there goes my Éomund + Gamling combo... :/
