doomguard 1975

i try to find out whats the best hero/deck for Elendilmir.

easy to get would be an aragorn, but he cannot do this much with the ability. i searched for heroes where it does more than a Unexpected Courage to make the "guarded" wort it.

into my mind comes:

  • Thengel but not easy to achieve to discard 2 allies in 1 round
  • (MotK) Rosie Cotton do her ability 2 times can do really huge impact (tripple quest or super defense or defense + attack) but i think of it a bit like a winmore if she goes that route that it matters (firesidesong + many songs + galadrielboost)
  • Galadriel she might be the worthiest of heroes, either use her draw and reduce ability twice or get +8 on willpower is huge (but very often her +4 is enough). but i cannot decide what is better she or
  • Beravor draw additional 4 cards a round and you can draw everyone is a huge thing. so if cards are your goal choose her or galadriel, but in both cases, be aware that it mostly get attached in rounf 3-4 not earlier. cards are most valuable at the beginning of the game
  • (MotK) Faramir this perhaps one of the best options, if heavy questing is needed
  • Aragorn valuable target, additional readying for an ally or other use, but i do not like this version much, not because of the ability because of the artwork ;)
  • Prince Imrahil optimize enter/leave ally-play
  • Frodo Baggins make him supertanky

these are good decisions, but i search for a hero that will allready kicks in in the midgame, and then

the deck my 1. choice

Haldir of Lórien comes to my mind.

he is very good if he get some attack-buff, that normally is realised after few rounds and not from the beginning. doing his ability twice could avoid many nasty enemy-effects.

mulligan

ofc #elendilmir or The King's Return then weapons (+possible Reforged and or Asfaloth or Westfold Horse-breeder.

strategy is simple, free Elendilmir put it on Haldir of Lórien, equip him with weapons and Dúnedain Mark and then let him use his ability twice per round.

to get the weapons:

free Elendilmir

finishing notes,

it is untested. perhaps adding cards from the sideboard and replace a few others is more effective, i am open for suggestions, (is sneak-gandalf worth it, and what to discard? is more readying needed with cram and/or miruvor, are more elevenlights advised, but what to cut for it?....)

heroes that are candidates but imo not worth it, mainly because it is only as good (or worse) than a courage or get you 1 res per round:

  • Aragorn could be worth it, if there are savely more than 1 location in the staging and even then quest normal with that action is mostly not this much worse, but an option to consider the most of all aragorns
  • Argalad could be worth it, if you know that 2 enemys willl be in the staging
  • Théoden
  • Éowyn (could be good in 4-player with possible +8)
  • Balin (perhaps in veeeery heavy shadoweffect-szenarios, but costly)
  • Gildor Inglorion

Hello, Cool ideas! Unfortunately, Elendilmir does not help Messenger of the King Faramir. He can still only be readied once per phase, and his ability typically has no limit. I think that using Long Lake Trader to move Elendilmir from Aragorn to a better hero may be the best way to use the card.

you can only include 3 Long Lake Trader and bound to aragorn, i have 2 asfaloth, 3 almanach, 3 westroadtraveller, i think thats enouh to explore the location fast, and might be aster than get 1 Long Lake Trader out

@ Faramir you are right, what other hero would you like get it?
