This deck and Hunter's Deck are the first two decks I built. I built this fellowship so my roommate and I could beat the Core Set and the Hunt for Gollum cycle scenarios.
This deck primarily focuses on combat and defense with some additional card draw and healing.
Heroes
Denethor can become an absolute wall when defending if you attach A Burning Brand and a copy or two of Dúnedain Warning from Hunter's Deck.
Legolas can deal out a lot of damage if you attach a Blade of Gondolin and a few copies of Dúnedain Mark. Legolas is a good candidate for Horn of Gondor to help get more tactics resources.
Beravor can be a decent quester or she can make a decent defender if the need arises, however I primarily included her for card draw at the end of the round. If you do decide to make her a defender A Burning Brand would be something to consider.
Radagast is included in this hero section because he needs to get into play as soon as possible. I would recommend taking a mulligan to get him the first round. While he can seem expensive, he pays from himself once you start getting eagles into play. (You can use Theodred from Hunter's deck to help get an additional resource to get Radagast into play quicker.)
Allies
Eagles of the Misty Mountains can become a very strong ally if played early in the game. Once the other eagles serve their purpose, make sure to attach them to the Eagles of the Misty Mountains. Use The Eagles Are Coming! to help find eagle cards to play.
Haldir of Lórien is a great way to help defend for or attack with Hunter's deck. He is another good candidate for A Burning Brand if you have one laying around. Dúnedain Warning would also help him survive a some stronger enemy attacks.
Miner of the Iron Hills remove some annoying or dangerous Condition attachments found in Passage Through Mirkwood and Conflict at the Carrock.
Final Thoughts
Self Preservation can be good on any hero. I find that Éowyn in Hunter's deck makes a good candidate in case there is some unavoidable Treachery that would lower her health.
Radagast's Cunning and Secret Paths are great ways to lower threat in the staging area.
